    PRADHAN MANTRI JAN DHAN YOJANA (PMJDY)

    Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is a scheme prepared for the Indians under which all the Indians must have their Bank Account. Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Rs. One Lac (1,00,000/-) life insurance policy has been offered to opening the bank account. However, the benefits of this insurance will be obtained by those account holders, who will continue to make withdrawals and the clearance must be through Rupay card. Currently Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana bank accounts are being opened at zero balance. An accident insurance cover, Rupay Debit Card and Life Insurance policy of Rs. 1 lac is provided. Bank Officials says that the benefit of the insurance will be provided to those who have make withdrawals within last 45 days of accident.

    The scheme was launched on 28th August, 2014 in all the districts of the country. In the next stage of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, for the account holders the credits, insurance and pension facility will be added. Also overdraft facility of Rs 5,000/- will be given to the account holders later.

    There is a big target of Jan Dhan Yojana. Its scope is not just to open one’s bank account but the amount of the respective plan will be transferred directly into applicant bank account every month.

    What is Rupay Card:

    Rüpay is actually made up of two words Rüpe and Payment. Rupay card is like Visa and Master Card is the first work card of the country. With the introduction of the system, India has one of the few countries, who has own payment gateway.

    Profit of Rupay Card: The cost of Rupees significantly less than International card. On the transaction of this card, banks are required to pay 40% less than international cards. So the transactions are even faster.

    How to Open a Bank Account:

    If you want to open an account then you are required to fill a form which can be get from the internet. You can download the form from web portal in both English and hindi languages. You just need to go to the web portal and take a printout of the form. After taking the printout of the form fill all the information and go to the nearest kiosk with all the documents and form for opening your bank account.

    In this form first of all you are required to fill the Name of Branch, Village or Town and State where the applicant live.

    Then you just need to fill the Full Name of the Applicant, Father’s/husbaband’s name, Date of Birth, Gender, Occupation, Telephone Number/mobile and Email ID.

    In the next section of the form, second applicant or Joint applicant details like Full Name must be in capital letters, Father’s name, Date of Birth, Gender, Occupation, Telephone no., Email ID and in the last Permanent and Present Address needs to be required to fill.

    Then in the form , the other details of facility are required to be filled by an applicant like Passbook, Statement of Account by email or post, Cheque Book and also are required to fill Aadhaar Number and Voter ID no.

    You are also required to fill the nominee for your account.

    NREGA Job Card

    EPIC card of the applicant

    PAN card of the applicant

    The above documents can be submitted as a proof of Identity and address also.

    In case the applicant does not have any of the above document then they can submit anyone from the following-

    Identity Card with photograph issued by Central/State Govt.

    Letter issued by a Gazetted Officer with duly attested photograph of the applicant.

    What is the Benefits Provides under PMJDY Scheme:
    ~!~> The applicant will get Interest on Deposit

    ~!~>
    Under this Scheme, accidental insurance of Rs. One lac will be provided to the applicant.

    ~!~>
    There is not required to have minimum balance

    ~!~>
    Life Insurance cover of Rs. 30,000/- will be given to the applicant

    ~!~>
    The applicant can easily transfer their money throughout India

    ~!~>
    All the beneficiaries of Govt. Schemes will get DBT in these accounts.

    ~!~>
    After acceptable operation of the account for six months, an overdraft facility will be allowed to the applicant.

    Access to Pension, insurance products

    Accidental Insurance Cover, RuPay Debit Card must be used at least once in 45 days.
    ~!~> The facility of Overdraft of Rs.5000/- is provided to one account per household, preferably lady of the household.
