    The national fellowship scheme for the person with the disability is provided to the person who can pursue M. Phil / Ph. D courses in any of university which is recognized by University Grant Commission mean UGC. This scheme is provided by the Department of empowerment of person with disability, government of India.

    National Fellowship Scheme for Person with Disability
    This scholarship is provided to students on based on education like M. Phil, Ph. D course by the university recognizes by UGC. This fellowship is given 200 per annum,

    @= Eligibility to Apply:
    • Any of students with the disability who has been admitted to M. Phil / Ph. D degree in-universe or academic institute by complete the required formality for admission at the universe or educational institution are eligible for the scholarship.
    • After two years if the process in research work of awardees is found satisfy.
    • The student with the disability once consider eligible for fellowship shall not entitle to any other benefits from central or state government or any other body like UGC officering similar doing regular and full-time M. Phil/ Ph. D courses of university/research institution shall be eligible for the fellowship.
    @= Duration of Fellowship:
    1. Phil: - 2 years for JRF 2 year and SRF nill
    2. Ph. D: - 5 years for JRF 2 year and SRF remain three year
    3. Phil + Ph. D: - 5 years for JRF 2 year and SRF remain three year
    Rate of Fellowship
    The standard of fellowship for JRF and SRF will be at par with UGC fellowship. Present rates are given below: -
    • Fellowship: - Rs.25, 000 p.m. for initial two years (Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Rs.28, 000 p.m. for remaining tenure (Senior Research Fellowship (SRF)
    • Contingency for Humanities and Social Science (including Arts/ Fine Arts): - at Rs. 10, 000 p.a. for initial two years at Rs. 20, 500 p.a. for remaining tenure
    • Contingency for Science, Engineering, and Technology: - at Rs. 12, 000 p.a. for initial two years at Rs. 25, 000 p.a. for remaining tenure
    • Departmental assistance (All subjects): - at Rs. 3, 000 p.a. per student to the host institute for providing infrastructure
    • Escort/ Reader Assistance (All subjects): - at Rs. 2, 000 p.m. in cases of candidates with physical and visual disabilities
    @= Role of UGC for NFPWD
    • There is no restriction for the student with the disability should have cleared NET/ SLET exam for being eligible for receiving the NFPwD.
    • One month time given by the UGC for applying given scholarship after that user is not able to apply.
    • U.G.C can evolve a mechanism for identification of the beneficiary’s link with U.I.D/ Aadhar number.
    • U.G.C can provide booklet which contains all the details about the scholarship, for the benefit of prospective candidates.
    • U.G.C can ensure that student with disabilities already takes any other benefiting under other fellowship program are not covered under N.F.P.w.D.
    • The U.G.C can provide a list in which the beneficiary name for JRF and SRF with their UID/Aadhar Number, amount of scholarship, and year of fellowship are mention.
    • They also maintain the record of students about their work with the disability for the purpose of award SRF.

    Dear Madam

    I was awarded with National fellowship for disabled for the year 2015-16. After enrolling for PhD I submitted my required documents to the near by Canara Bank. When they tried to upload my documents in UGC website they are unable to find my details. Kindly help me in getting correct student id which will enable me to upload my documents. Herein I have provided the student id provided by UGC.
